Short, guided improvisation will be also integrated into the training. The class aims to offer the possibility to each participant to be engaged in the group dynamic of the class while developing a personal perspective on the training supporting the of individual needs.

Could you say something about the influences or methods that are informing your class, that would allow us to visualize the kind of movement we will work on? The influences that are informing my class are the combination of, improvisation based on emotional states and physical training for actors coming from my collaboration with choreographers of the Belgian Wave like Koen Augustjinen, Rosalba Torres and Ann van de Broek. And the movement fluidity coming from Gaga. My methodology is also a combination of set material and improvisation.

What kinds of skills are we training / practicing that are useful to dance professionals regardless of training background? During the training participants will have the chance to practice a movement quality based on density and resistance, this will be trained in relation to the floor or to an other body (in couple exercises). Another skill that will be trained during the week will be the ability to work with “visualization”as a tool to support the research on specific movement quality, and as a base to increase the awareness of the connection between mind and body.
