Class description

First week - ballet for contemporary dancers
The first week is focused on ballet technique for contemporary dancer. Main focus of the training is to keep up with the dancer ballet technique, warming up the body and get ready for the rehearsals or just to keeping in shape. The ballett class consider your contemporary dance background as well, and use it as an extension tool to experience the body posture and ballet dance dinamics in a more contemporary way.

Second week – contemporay dance
The training is a modern / contemporary training based on a series of exercises. The main focus of the class is to warm up the dancers to be ready for their rehearsals during the week. Every part of the body is going to be gently challenged in order to then reach the level of performance they may require for their work later during the day. Besides that, I give special attention to the upper part of the body that sometime it is left behind to give space to the lower part. Hips position, turn out, foot work is in nevertheless definitely a subject we work on. We will not do much floor work , but at the same time we will spend quite a lot concentration in finding ways to stabilize and get in contact not only with the floor, but also with the „under the floor “ by using visualizations as well. I will dedicate some moments during class on how to connect and dance with another body without necessarily touching each other.

Level: advanced
